  • No, I have not fallen off the planet

I know it's been a while.    The reason?    Because I think I could print out the last few posts and put them here because nothing has changed at our house.

Gordon is the same, poor fellow.   I am the same ol woman, trying to stay healthy enough to take care of the aforementioned fellow.   His unpredictable changes in his food likes and dislikes are driving the cook crazy.     He still does for himself to a certain extent, but I do some of the things he used to do himself.     He is really a pretty good patient but he won't do some of the things I think he needs to do.    I don't nag.

Our weather is getting warmer and warmer, but March forgot to take her winds with her.    Here it is the middle of April and the wind is fierce.    I was talking to a friend this morning who told me her grandma used to call this windy weather the winds of Lent.   I had never heard of this particular saying.

It's Holy week and I may or may not make some of the events.    I remember from Catholic school that we used to go every day to Mass and Holy week was always beautiful bit so exhausting.   And the incense always made me sick to my stomach.    If the weather was hot and we went to Benediction or some other time incense was burned, I always fainted.    I must have been an awful problem child!!

It's time for my lunch so that's it for this post.   I managed to write a lot about nothing.

Oh, the menu.   Well, I have a Porterhouse steak in the fridge and I hope to make twice baked potatoes to go with it, but yesterday I had a sinking spell and poor Gordon ended up eating a can of soup and I had a grilled cheese.    Maybe tonight will be different.

See ya'll on the web.    I am on Facebook in case any of my readers are there, give me a holler.

I'm on facebook also but I never read it.

Yes, hubby and I were just saying that our life is boring.

Holy Week is on us and I remember too going to church more often too. Never heard of the winds of Lent but now I will think about that. lol

we are just going to have lunch with mom at the nursing home but make her happy plus hubby doesn't like sitting in her room. This way we get her out of her room and out and about the home.

Good to hear from you again.  I'm not on Facebook, but some of my kids are.  I am amazed at one little sentence in your post.  "I don't nag."  Not many women can say that.  Maybe it's because when you've been married a long time you realize it doesn't do any good, so you just don't bother.
Our church doesn't usually have a lot of meetings this week, just Sunday worship.  This year we're having Communion Fri. Night, which includes a light meal, a foot-washing service, testimonies, songs, and the bread and cup.  I hope to be able to go.  I'm always blessed when I do.  The family plans to come Easter Sun. but they are bringing most of the food, so that will help.  Next Tues. I'll go to the Dr. and see if they know if there's anything wrong with my heart.

so i got my fainting from incense (and no doubt extra-humidity induced) from you?? i rather like the smell now.

i don't understand why your doctor can't balance your meds so you don't have sinking spells..

My life is pretty boring too...my newest thing is Facebook...I don't know how to find you on there, but if you'll send me a friend request I'll add you to my list.  I didn't think I would like it at first, but I can move around and visit easier than I can on Xanga.

Well gal my life is about as boring as everyone else's and right now another chapter of the saga that I really don't want to think about let alone write about.

Those sinking spells are causing me real concern...I can imagine how they are affecting you!!  Wish there was something that could be done about them.  I have never heard of Lenten winds either.  But they have been with us the entire Lenten season!  I will give it a test next year during Lent, and see if there is not some truth to that statement.  lol
