Alleljia!
Happy Easter to all who celebrate it. It's another gray windy day, but maybe those who wear Easter finery won't get wet this morning for church and any egg hunts are pretty sure to stay dry enough.
This is Mama, my sister Barbara Ann and me on an Easter many years ago. I was about 12, my sister probably 6 or 7. I don't know why Mama and Sis are not wearing their hats. I was really proud of mine. Mama made our dresses, of course. I think the year was about 1948.

yes, you are so cute in your easter bonnet.
The dresses look great, your mother did good work.
Be blessed today, as always,

Great picture! You look like your mama.
Great pic. Such fond memories. Also, thank you for including "to all who celebrate it" after your Easter greeting. I don't hear that too often from some people.
Grandma looks so young here. i'm curious, when did she become sick?
also, where is this house y'all are in front of?
Your mama's smile then reminds me of your smile now. What is the phrase Nora Ephron says,"I put my coat on one day, and out from the sleeve came my mother's hand."
@jillcarmel - @bleuzeus - @transvestite_rabbit - @zionlover - @Southland - @xkdip - I loved that hat. It was gray straw with blue silk flowers around the brim and had an open crown. My dress was blue and white check cotton. I think Sis was hiding the fact she was snaggle toothed at the time so her smile is not a wide one like Mama's and mine.
Mama was probably late 40's in this photo and I am looking more and more like her as I age. But my hands look like my Dad's, all knobby and rough. Mama was diagnosed with myathenia gravis a couple of months after I was married back in '54. The photo was taken in front of our house on Martin Drive in Port Arthur. Gordon moved across the street when I was about 13 and then later, after we were married, we moved into his family's old house across the street. Both homes have burned.
that is sad about your mom but nice about meeting Gordan.
